Zombies All-around Enhancement Mod

I've been trying to use the All-around Enhancement MOD from steam mainly for the purpose of allowing more than 4 players in zombies, and i can see in the public servers that people have managed to make that possible using that mod.
but for some reason the feature to change the maximum number of players in that mod is not available for me it maxes out at 4 and even if you use the command /d aae_boiii_maxplayer 6;luireload it still won't change it. so is there any older version of the mod that is supposed to be working? currently I'm at v2.7.9

I have contacted the developer and he informed that the mod would 100% work if the game is started from steam. and i just ran the Ezz Client exe through steam and it made no difference. maybe I'm doing something wrong?

any help would be appreciated.
